An open mind is like a door to endless possibilities. It’s that willingness to try, to explore, to learn, and to grow. An open mind is like a welcome mat for new experiences and discoveries.
For years, I had a list of things I despised. Mushrooms, brussels sprouts, yams, lifting weights, coffee, and more. I would say, “Nope, not for me. I don’t like it, and I never will.” But guess what? I was wrong!
Turns out that mushrooms that don’t come in a can taste amazing! Brussel sprouts roasted with olive oil and a sprinkle of sea salt – yum!! Lifting weights and incorporating more movement into my day – yes please. Oh … and affirmations and meditation aren’t hooey!
By being open to the idea that my journey was not set in stone, that my past likes, dislikes and fears didn’t necessarily apply anymore, I discovered some new favorites. I’m willing to bet the same applies to you.
So, today, I invite you to reflect on your wellness journey. Is there something you’ve been resisting or avoiding? Is there a food you’ve written off or an activity you’ve dismissed? Be willing to give it another chance, to look at it from a different perspective, and to be open to the possibility that your tastes and preferences have evolved.
Wellness is not about rigidity or limitations; it’s about growth, adaptability, and joy. An open mind is your greatest ally. It’s the key to discovering new joys and uncovering hidden passions on your wellness journey.
Until next time, take care, keep an open mind, and continue to grow and flourish!
