Thank you for your bravery and your courage

In memory of all the brave men and women who didn’t make it home and heartfelt thanks to the ones who did come back.  Many came back scarred, physically, emotionally and mentally.  So many gave so much.

My uncle was only 22 when he died far away from home.  My son will be 22 next month.  I cannot imagine the fear, the pain, the sadness my grandma must have felt. Today, there are still mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters hugging their loved ones, hoping and praying they will come back safely.  There are tears shed and hearts broken when that hope is not realized.

To the ones waiting and grieving, our thoughts and prayers are with you today as well.
